My story

Born and raised in the vibrant city of Kuala Lumpur, I grew up in the lush suburb of Taman Tun Dr Ismail, where I developed a strong sense of community and a passion for helping others. My parents, both university professors, instilled in me the value of education and the importance of pursuing one’s dreams. As the third of five siblings, I learned early on the significance of teamwork, perseverance, and compassion—qualities that have shaped my approach to medicine and life.

My journey to becoming a doctor began during my formative years at MRSM Langkawi, a boarding school where I spent two transformative years. It was there that my passion for medicine truly took root, fueled by a desire to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. After excelling in my SPM examinations, I was awarded a PETRONAS scholarship, which allowed me to pursue my dream of becoming a surgeon. I completed my A-Levels at Kolej Tuanku Jaafar, where I forged lifelong friendships and honed my academic skills.

My medical education took me to the National University of Ireland, Cork, a picturesque city that became my home for five challenging yet rewarding years. The university’s stunning campus and rich academic environment provided the perfect backdrop for my studies. During this time, I served as the President of the Malaysian Society, an experience that broadened my horizons and strengthened my leadership and interpersonal skills. Graduating with honors (MB BCh BAO Hons) was a proud moment, marking the culmination of years of hard work and dedication.

Upon returning to Malaysia, I began my medical career as a houseman at Hospital Selayang, where I gained invaluable experience and formed lasting bonds with colleagues. It was also during this time that I met my soulmate, Dr. Elyana, an obstetrician and gynecologist, whom I am blessed to call my wife. Together, we are raising three wonderful boys, who, while not aspiring to be doctors (at least for now!), bring immense joy and fulfillment to our lives.

My passion for surgery led me to specialize in Ear, Nose, and Throat, Head and Neck Surgery at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). This period was undoubtedly the most challenging phase of my life, balancing the demands of clinical work, academic studies, and family responsibilities. However, it was also incredibly rewarding. I was honored to receive the 2018 Lokman Saim Award for Best Dissector in Temporal Bone Dissection and the 2019 Best Dissector Award for the Annual FESS Course at UKM—recognitions that reflect my dedication to mastering the intricate skills required for microsurgery.

Over the past six years, I have had the privilege of serving as an ENT surgeon at two of Malaysia’s largest and busiest government hospitals—Hospital Kuala Lumpur and Hospital Tunku Azizah for Women and Children. I subsequently expanded my private practice as a visiting ENT consultant at Sunway Medical Centre Velocity and Columbia Asia Hospital Setapak. Since August 2026, I have been serving full-time as a Resident ENT Consultant at KPJ Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital. These diverse experiences across both the public and private healthcare sectors have equipped me with the expertise, confidence, and commitment to deliver the highest standard of evidence-based, patient-centred ENT care.

My mission is simple yet profound: to restore the healthy function of the ear, nose, and throat for my patients, ensuring they receive compassionate, personalized, and effective treatment. I believe in a patient-centered approach, where every individual feels heard, valued, and cared for throughout their medical journey.

For those unfamiliar with what an ENT specialist does, I treat conditions involving the ears, nose, throat, voice and balance. This includes common problems such as sinus issues, snoring, hearing loss and sore throat, as well as more complex conditions like vertigo, voice disorders and neck lumps.

My approach is simple – listen carefully, diagnose accurately and treat effectively. I believe patients should understand their condition and treatment options clearly. My goal is to help you breathe better, hear clearly, speak comfortably and live well.

As a doctor, I live by the motto, “Do no harm.”

To this, I add my personal philosophy:
“Do your duty rightfully and joyfully.”

Medicine is not just a profession for me—it is a calling, a dream I have worked tirelessly to achieve. It is my greatest joy to serve my patients and contribute to their well-being.

Thank you for visiting my website. I am here to help, and I look forward to being a part of your journey to better health.

Warm regards,
